Beautiful Trout! Good eating.
This is the most correct answer. I remember some small streams in Pa, and NY, when I was a kid that were full of brook trout. As logging encroached on these streams the brook trout simply died out as the streams warmed up and became shallower. On my property in the southern part of NY, right on the PA border, I have a really, really small stream running down off of my hill into the valley below. I never tell anyone this, but it's full of brook trout. It has very large white pines and hardwoods along its bank and is on the shady side of the hill. I never fish it, but I sit and watch the brookies feeding and laying along the bank in the "deep" spots. Deep being around a foot or so of water. Kind of neat having them there.
