    want a air rifle

I think I need a air rifle. My old benjamin died. I want one that is pretty accurate and does not pump by the barrel
I would like to spend less than 300 bucks. What do ya think.

Goto http://www.pyramydair.com/ and find what you would like.

They appear to me to have the largest selection of any outfit out there. The Break Barrel Spring Piston guns are going to be your best bet

    Look at RWS and Beeman.

I have a techforce 99 that I got from compesseco.com(sp?). .22, 900fps claimed. Adult sized, single stroke undercocker. I like it. ~$160 at the time.

You may want to consider a gas piston gun. They are supposed to perform better than the spring piston guns. Here's some related info.

The RWS model 34 is hard to beat. It's in your price range as well.I agree with W.R. on spring piston. The Beeman R7/HW30 is also another winner though i have never owned one.I used to be a .22 airgun guy but lately the .177's have been doing it for me up to 50 yards(target shooting) My experience with Pyramid Air has been wonderful and i recommend them.

i will second the rws 34.....in .22 caliber if you plan to hunt with it. it is just under 300 and will give you the best bang for your buck. great trigger, very accurate. lifetime warranty. better than any of those cheap chinese gas ram guns.i have three of them. one in each caliber made. (they dont make .20 cal anymore) they are a great gun and will outlast you with proper care.

/\ I'll second that ! I've been very pleased with my .22 caliber RWS. There may be better air rifles out there and there are certainly cheaper ones; but the RWS seems to be the right compromise between quality and price.

I got a refurb Gammo, real nice for the grand kids, just picked up 5000 pellets and 6000 bb's, to keep them busy, and small stuff in SHTF. It was about $70.00 form sportsman's guide a couple of months ago!

You could take a look at the under the barrel cocking lever rifles. These have the advantages of the spring piston guns but the barrel is solidly fixed to the cylinder.

I like Pyramid Air but Midsouth Shooters has the 34s for about 50 bucks less. Would have to check on shipping costs to see if it's a deal though since I think PA ships anything over $150 for free.
