    My daughter's first deer.

Taken with her H&R 20 ga ultra slug hunter. Past two years the deer weren't cooperating with us, but today a group of thirty came running in around her. Proud day for me, just had to share.

Gratiot/Saginaw state game area. Just a few miles north of the rifle/shotgun line. This is the fourth deer taken out of this one section this year by the three of us, my dad, daughter and I. My cart is getting a workout this year.

At times, last year was slow around there, but persistence pays off. We also hunt some private land, mostly farm land, just west of Owosso. The deer there are bigger, but that's unfortunately in the shotgun zone.

Awesome! My entire family hunts, not much deer anymore(we are getting old and the nieces and nephews are spread out all over the US), but prairie dogs and pheasants were on this falls schedule. My little brother and 2 brother in laws like to duck hunt, not for me, to dang cold out on the water.

That's neat. My grandson took his first about 2 weeks ago, a 60-70 lb doe. He's 10, had the same smile your daughter did. Priceless. Funny, he stopped me before I took the picture, reached over to the entrance wound, dipped his forefinger and middle finger into it and drew 2 lines under each eye. Where did that come from? Kids.

Yep, dad was a couple hundred yards away watching the deer come to her through a thicket, I heard the shot and saw the doe stumble and fall. Yeah, big smile on this face, her grandpa was within a couple hundred yards also, thick section of woods, he was also happy.
