I'm moving forward on reboring my 30/30 to 35-30/30. Looking hard at the RCBS 82028 200gr FPGC to try in it when it's finished. (I'm also excited about losing the microgroove barreling, because mine just flat wouldn't shoot lead boolits.)
Curious if anyone shoots this caliber and boolit. Also, would appreciate hearing on powders. Currently investigating H322 / H335 / Re-7 or Re-10.
Is J E S gonna rebore it for you? I'm seriously thinking about getting a Savage 99 rebored to .358 Win. by them.

I never had a .35x.30-30, but H335 has worked well in the .35 Remington, for me. I would think that any powder that is suitable for the .30-30 or .38-55 would work for this cartridge.
I think a 14" twist will be more than sufficient, I believe Marlin uses a 16" twist on their .35 Remington's.

My. 35/.30-30 is a 16" twist and I have great results with a 260-grain LBT flatnosed bullet. 895" long from subsonic levels through full charge loads. RL7 is the powder of choice for full charge loads.
If your gun would not shoot as a .30-30, assuming you had bullet fit and propellant under control, it likely won't shoot as a .35 either.
I worked with a 30A last winter that would put two or three shots inside 2 inches then blow the rest of a five shot string into a modified choke pattern. Nothing worked. I stripped the fore end and mag tube and shot the gun. 5 shots into 1 1/4 at 100 yards.
Upon examination, the magazine tube was binding the barrel just forward of the receiver. When that contact was relieved and the gun assembled, 5 shots inside 2 inches was routine.
I had Jesse re-bore and rifle my 30-30 to 35/30-30. When I asked him what he would suggest do twist, he replied 1:15. I haven't been disappointed in the least after going with his suggestion. The three groove rifling works very well wig cast. I've shot weights from 170 grains to 250 grains with no problems.

Where do you get dies for 35-30/30?

I got my dies at CH4D. Had a set on the shelf. Think it was $80 or so.
PS. Re-7 is giving me best results under a 200 RCBS LGC
The RCBS 35-200-FN mold works wondrously in my 358 Winchester. Bullets weigh 210 grains, are well formed, and shoot very accurately.
