    Need some help from a 40 S&W reloader with a hardness tester

    I can't buy a hardness tester right now and I am wondering if someone would help me out. I would like to offer about 100 or so 40 cal lead boolits, they are from the lee 6 cav TL 175 mold. I am needing to know a round-about BHN of the lead I am using.

    I think I am going to offer 2 lots of these so I can get two different testers and see if there is any difference. I will do this by first come first serve. The first person to say they will help will get to pick......

    1. 200 lead cast boolits from the above mold
    2. 100 lead cast boolist from the above mold but they are coated with Hi-Tek Green Lube.

    You know what, just PM me and I'll give you my address. You can keep your boolits, I can make my own, and when the package comes and I test them (all of 1 minute) I'll PM the results.

    If you are wanting a second person to test hardness, I will do it for you.

    While I am willing to do it with no extra's sent...I would like to try some of the Hi-tech green coated boolits.

    Jon_B the green works great in 40 & 9 with 98/2/0 alloy, full power loads. Just takes a couple tries to get the process down right. Do about 50 first till you get it right, not 400 like I did. Makes for an extra casting session.
