I perfer the Harris bi-pods and use them often, One plus is if the rifle has sling studs then mounting or removing is only a couple minute job. So one cn do multiple duty on several rifles.

I can second the bouncing off a hard surface with the bi-pod, a small piece of carpet under the two legs helps.

Some of you might want to consider the Atlas bipod - depending upon your usage and how serious you are about using one.

The Harris swivel model is what I have on a few rifles and I'd have nothing else after using them

+2 on this. Tried a cheapie on my 308 and 2 weeks after I got it I replaced it with a Harris with the Swivel!
45 ACP because shooting more than once is just silly!!

I like the tall one so I can sit down and shoot over the tall grass. Scrunch just right and hit those prairie dogs away out there. Harris of course! Best,Thomas.

I own Harris, GG&G and Atlas. They each have there pros and cons but my favorite is the Atlas. A shoot the Precision Rifle matches and I see more Harris being used than any others. These are on expensive rifles so don't think they are used simply because they are cheaper than Atlas and other high end bipods.
