    Test subjects

I picked up 4 Mosin T53 you fixems from Century for $59.87 each. One had a broken stock one missing a screw in the butt plate one has a broken hand guard. And one with a broken floor plate latch. The metal on all 4 isn't bad. Stocks are rough. I bought them to use in gaining some gun smith skills. I'm lucky enough to have an gun smith want to pass on some of his skills.

Good luck with'em and have fun. I've thought about ordering some of these myself before they're all gone.

I got 6 that were called fair with cracked stock. Of those one had a pretty decent pit about two inches from the chamber. One was what I would call a dark shootable bore. The other 4 or smooth and shinny. Of the 4 you fixems I think they are fine shinny sharp rifling no counter bore in any of them. Lots of cosmo.

I have the u fixems back together and shot them today had to re-polish two chambers and re-clean where the locking lugs fit with a wire brush. But they all shoot and work good. I worked glue into the cracks and clamped them over night. then drilled clear through and pegged a couple of them with wooden dowels. I think they came out good for my first try.

Picked up 6 more. These all have good bores. Going to be able to make 5 guns out of the 6. One stock is real bad but I can fix it. One missing the bolt behind the recoil lug. One missing the nut on the same bolt. Some toes on the stock need re-glued. One has a bent firing pin. So I'll hold the barreled action with the bent firing pin back with the bad stock and look for some parts then put that last one together.
