I got a pretty good deal on her, and for whatever reason she spoke to me. Shiny orange stock, and bull barrel and all. I want to use her as a "mountain rifle." But my eyes suck, and they seem to be getting worse.
The gunsmiths hereabouts...sell guns, and don't work on them. They take them in, let them sit for a year or so, and give them back to you...with dings and scratches, "that were there before."
So, I have given up on them in these parts. Anyone know of a reputable gunsmith that might get me a scope mounted on this Uberti, and lighten the trigger pull to less than 39 pounds? I tried Reagan Nonneman a few years ago and he also kept my rifle over a year...but at least he got it done...between harvesting corn, taking care of grandma, nursing sick puppies back to health, and all the things he told me in that year and a half.
Is four or five months too much to ask?
Anyone know of a good man, who is willing to do this for me? Thank you
Also I have watched several videos of the gunsmith from Down East Maine, is he on the board? If so, please direct me to him if you would be so kind.
