Arrow Smokemjoe (Joe Wiest) Has Passed Away

    http://www.castbulletassoc.org/forum...8&forum_id=104

I just saw this on the CBA site and I'm truly saddened by it. I didn't know Joe well, but we occasionally emailed back and forth. He was also a gifted machinist. I will miss him.

If you are unable to open the CBA message, I've copied & pasted it below:

"Joe, left the shooting range permently Yesterday, August 13, 2013. He sucombed to his long fight with cancer. I didn't know Joe very well, I bought a few things of his and talked on the phone once. I learned this from a close friend of his today. What I did know of Joe was that he was a very nice guy and very trusting of others. I'm sure that others that shot with him over the years will mourn his lose. He does leave us one thing........ his still standing 200 yard Big Bore group record:

    Joe Wiest

    2.813

    June 14, 2009

    Sioux City, IA

And his 100 yard Off Hand score record:

    Joe Wiest

    84-0X

    June 13, 2009

    Sioux City, IA"

Not a member, couldn't read. Sad to hear even though we knew it was coming. Hope he's shooting on the Big Range now with no pain.

He shared extra wine making goods when I was just getting back into it last year. We emailed occasionaly. He even sent a pic of his copper alcohol distilling apparatus.

    RIP Joe.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
