Have you slugged your SSK .375 JDJ?

If so, I'm wondering what it slugged at?
I have an SSK .375 JDJ barrel coming, but it's weeks away.......
Knowing what these barrels slug at, will let me get the boolit making end under way.
I asked SSK the same question, but have not heard back.

    .........and thus my question.......375", 376", .377", .378" ?
If 9 out of 10 SSK barrels slugged to .376" , then it would be a safe bet that mine would also. I would go ahead and ask my friend to begin casting.

I get tired or reiterating the legality of short barrels on carbines in Canada......so the short answer is yes, it's legal. I will use it for killing anything that needs killing, including paper.

Can't help you with JDJ figures but I can tell you that my T/C measured 378 but won't chamber a 379 bullet with formed brass. Have to neck turn. Double check once you get it that your chose cast bullet has room to fly. SSK necks are rather snug.
Some where between here and there.....

    Thanks for the reply.
Sounds like the TC 375 barrel that you have is a PITA to load for! Wonder why they would make the bore diameter so large?

SSK came through with an answer to my question. JD told me that the SSK bores measure .375", and that most guys use .377 or .378" cast boolits.

I shoot cast bullets out of quite a few TC barrels. Out of my TC Custom Shop 375 JDJ I size my bullets to .378.

The only SSK barrel I have is a 35-06 JDJ. All I can tell you about it is that It will take a 360 bullet. LOL

They only barrel I have that has any issues is the 414 SM. It will not chamber a round sized to .411. You have to size to .410.

All that being said, I would size only what is needed to chamber the barrel. From my experiences with TCs, the larger you can size it the more accurate they will shoot. JMHO. I have run 400 rounds out of my 35-06 JDJ, 300 being cast. The smaller I sized, the bigger the groups have gotten every time. This experiment was paralleled with in my 22 Hornet, 22 K Hornet with 224 and 225 and 30 Herret, 300 Whisper, and 308 win in .309 and .311
