Checked out that WFT with a quick google search for reviews. Checks out pretty good. Just ordered it. Cost $100 with the 50BMG insert. Should work perfect yet I only have 50 pieces of brass to trim!

Last thing is a primmer pock uniformer and powder! Man! I feel wore out shopping and researching all this stuff.

Primmer pocket reamer, flash hole and neck reamer from K&M DONE!

    Just Powder now!

Shooting in 3 weeks or less!

I use a .315" endmill with a stop collar that I fabricated to both ream and uniform my primer pockets. Chuck it in a drill and each one only takes a few seconds -- works slick! And doesn't add another big price tag to an already expensive shooting experience. I chamfer the pockets with a standard off-the-shelf countersink.

I use Wilson's primer pocket reamer in their 50 BMG case trimmer. Makes primer pockets perfect every time but your K&M should do the same. K&M makes good stuff. Sounds like your well into the 50 BMG money pit. Good luck. The big 50 sure turns heads at the range. Everyone wants to shoot it. I picked up 600 rounds of LC08 loaded ammo in 100 round 50 cal ammo boxes so LC08 is my brass. It is excellent quality brass with a good neck anneal.

I think the only thing I will eventually need is some plinker rounds for those that want to shoot it but don't care about accuracy.

That is when I'll pick up some FMJs and the surplus powder I suppose.

Got the RWS primers ordered and should be here soon. Gun is shipping. Sold the 44 AutoMag Pistol and Browning BAR 300WM to afford to shoot the 50! Going to put my name on the list for some RWS brass.

OK, I think I'm ready. Got everything coming inbound. Going to try RL-50 powder with the 750 grain A-max. Hope the gun likes it. I was able to pick it up shipped for $17/lb, and....well.... I bought a lot. Kind of going all out here in hopes for potential accuracy but I read on the FCSA forums an interesting comment. You can either pay for a $4 miss or a $5 hit. Obviously a lot of factors apply but it seemed to make since to me.

    Good shooting and swage on!

Got 5 rounds down the tube breaking in the new barrel. A lot of fun! Going to take her out and put a few more down the tube this weekend with my dad.

Got 50 rounds loaded up with 218 grains of H-50 BMG powder behind the 750 A-Max, we shall see how they do. Seems to be a pretty standard load from what I have researched.

I load 200 grains of that powder under a Barnes copper solid and I can tell you, there is no better way of reducing big rocks to dust!

    Cool!

Oh.. by the way the WFT 50 cal trimmer works very well with the 50BMG brass. I would probably consider one for high volume trimming, like a 223 or similar case. Chucked the trimmer in my lathe and the operation was smooth and consistent.

I have the WFT in .223/5.56 and it works better than anything I have used, including the Dillon Trimmer I had and used on 5.56/7.62/30-06 for 10 years. The Dillon motor burned out 2 years ago and I bought the WFT to cut the thousands of .223/5.56 I had needing trimming. May buy the WFT for the 7.62 also, replacement cost for the motor on the Dillon trimmer is almost twice the cost of the WFT.

Proto type blue prints are off to the custom reamer shop! We shall see what I can come up with. Got plans for a 6s ogive and a 10s with ballistic tips made from either 22lr, 22mag or possibly 30 cal jackets if need be. Oh yeah! Got boat tail proto type plans sent too!

Should be able to duplicate the Hornady A-Max with a tangent profile rather then their secant!

I'll keep you all posted. I think I'll be able to make it all work with my 7/8" dies. We shall see. Anything is possible!

The WFT is available in 300 BLK also. Makes it perfectly square. No chamfering necessary.

I'll be in line for a die set for sure.

I just found a set of Corbin 1½in s-12 dies with a lead tip die that will work on the A-Square RCE HydraSwage so I guess I'm out of this for now. Can't wait to get that big press cranking out bullets rather than extruding lead wire.

Where you at on this? I have been quietly lurking/watching this thread in anticipation!
I have an AR50 and I'm very interested in your progress on the swaging dies.

Have you thought about Soft Point or Hollow Point bullets with thinner jackets for hunting deer sized game?
Everything I have shot would seem to benefit from a "hunting" bullet instead of a target bullet.

Got the reamers. Just need to machine some dies now. Should be able to send my first R&D dies off to heat treat with next batch of dies.

WOW. I too am eagerly waiting to see what BTSniper develops, and to get on the production list, but Deer hunting with the AR50? Let's see the AR-50 is 34 lb (15.5 kg), no way I am going to carry mine in the field hunting deer. Also, seems a little too much power for deer sized game:

    50BMG M33 Ball specs are:
    2910 fps
    661 Grains
    12,428 Foot Pounds Energy

    50BMG M2 Ball specs are:
    2810
    709 grains
    12,430 Foot Pounds Energy

Compare to the following common Hunting Rounds.

    Attachment 89752

I might consider the AR50 for a long range Bison hunt, but not much else. At three times the energy of a 300 Winchester Magnum, way too much energy in my opinion unless loaded way down, but then you have too get by the 34 pounds for the rifle plus weight of each round. And how much meat are you going to loose with that level of energy on impact?
