I don't think its your isotope lead that is to blame. I have the same problem with regular WW alloy.

I need to try it with the older stuff I have that I've cast with before to confirm. I've never had a problem like this before. It was really crystallized. When the mold was working it was raining bullets. But I spent a good hour sorting them under a magnifying glass to see the torn bases. I probably had a sixty percent keeper ratio.

Mine casts okay. I think it's really pretty. I haven't loaded or shot any. I'm new at rifle casting and I'm waiting on a sizer.

Would you please post a fairly close up picture of a loaded cartridge that you have chambered......... I need to see where which portion of the nose touched.

I seat my bullets .010 off the rifling .. Old habit from long range days .. so far it still seems to work for cast as well .. At least for me
and I add a light crimp since there are feeding in a AR

I need more than that. Please give OAL of loaded cartridge and how far from the meplat (beginning and end) the lands touch the boolit. From that I can compare it to the heavy subsonic boolit i'm working on for the 300 ACC.

I can get you my OAL .. and again my bullets are not set to touch the rifling ..
Sure I can make some dummys that do touch the rifling but not sure what you mean by beginning and end .. splain please.. easy now and type slow so I can understand

When that situation happens, measure the OAL, then measure from the meplat to where the land marks are nearest the meplat and where they are the farthest from the meplat. 3 measurements (to the thousandth) total, then post them. Thanks....

Projectile on right is set at 1.980
Projectile on right First Mark closest to bullet point is .106
2nd mark is .190

They are just not making it up the feedramp

First Thing I would look at is that the Upper receiver has M4 cuts that match up to the barrel cuts..
seen some cheaper uppers coming thru without the cuts .. a little filing will take care of that issue ..
also if its a CMMG barrel you might have to open the back of the 2 lugs at the feed ramps
had this issue with 2 barrels... would not feed a 220 Hornady Rd nose till I hit the back of the lugs with a dremel

better than my pics.. You are just making a smooth transistion from the mag to the upper/barrel ...

and if you look closely at the pic you can see how the bottom 2 lugs match/line up with the ramp.. the big 220 RN's would catch the back of the lugs and lockup.. just a little removed from the inside back of those lugs and all was/is well

Anyone try these in a 30-30 yet? Cast about 600 last night (50/50 alloy almost-they have a little monotype in the alloy as well). Want to get a load worked up for the 30-30. My son helped me cast for the first time and I would love to put him in the stand with a load he helped create!

I tried the dremel today with no real success. It still won't feed more than one round at a time. Load 2 in the mag and it's jam city. I will gladly pay shipping both ways to one of you experts, and include boolits and brass, if you want to try to make this work. We can also work out some extra payment for your time and effort if you'd like.
