9mm 147 gr molds?

Looking to cast for volume for 9mm but in a 147 gr bullet. Any recommendations?

Might want to think about using a Lee 6 cavity 357 158 gr RN .. That's what I do
3.2 grs of Bulleye and I have a great subsonic rd to shoot out of a FA UZI or a Sig P250

Lyman's 147 gr. flat point BB is a good 9mm heavy.

Hmmm. Those lyman's are available in 4 cavity. How about a 6 cavity mold? I'd settle for a 135 grain in a six cavity.

Mihec makes a 6 cav. based on the lee blocks, his mold # 359-147, it's a TC BB I have one and like it a lot.

The RCBS 9-147 is a fine boolit, but it's only in a 2-Cavity as far as I know.

first do you currently load 147 gr boolits? - I have several mold from 135-158 that I use in 9mm and depending upon the firearm
some of them will not feed with certain nose shapes - so first we need to establish which nose shapes will work for you.

Am I to assume that you want a subsonic load or are you trying to meet a specific purpose - Minor Caliber soft recoiling for competition?

I have a 4C Saeco 929 145gr swc bb , it works excellent in 9mm & 38 super . But for most purposes in the 9mm i use the Saeco 377 122gr tc bb cast bullet .

I have the magma 147 and really like it. works in everything and loaded with aa#7 I get zero leading and 1070 out of handguns and 1270 out of carbines.
I have a 10 cavity ordered from ballisticast in the 978 listed above. can't wait to get that puppy up to temp and rain lead!

Yes. I load both a 135 and 147 gr round nose. But then again I've never had any feed problems with my glocks.

No suppressor a here. I just like seeing steel fall fast.

I would probably go for 135 grn Lee 9mm SP BB 6 Cavity Cast Boolet group buy mold for my first choice

then second choice something similar to Lyman 356637


For powder I use Red Dot, VV N320, Titegroup, WSF with heavy boolit loads in 9mm

yep, it works great, I just finished casting 7,000 or so.

Mike Venturino likes the Lyman 356242 poured using Linotype lead. Linotype alloy cast larger @.357 from this mould. Thinner wall Winchester brass fits some smaller chambers better using oversize boolits, 4.0grs of Bullseye or 4.4 grs. of HP-38. Good article in October 2013 issue of Handloader magazine

Thumb up for Mihec s 147 grainer.It cast 146,x with weal weights and loaded round with this bullet will chamber wit max COLs in evrything! And it looks great!

I have the Lyman Lyman 356637 and the NOE 358 135Gr. I find both of them to be far more accurate than I am. The Lyman casts close to 154gr consistently and the NOE about 137gr. Both are with WW. The Lyman has a bevel base which makes lubing interesting.
I load both over 4.0gr of WSF. My Sig 226 is not overly fussy about OAL so I usually aim for 1.10".

Either would be a good choice and work great.
