    Penn 955 international

Iv'e been a Penn fan for a long time.
This morning I scored a 955 for less than a fortune.
    Who else uses a 955, 965, or a 975?
    Got any good tips?
    Best,
    Mike

    Hi Shooter,
I have had a 955 since they first came out. That must have been about 1996'ish.
I have replaced the bearings twice in that time and it is my go to reel with a Penn Slammer rod anytime I go fishing for snapper. I have it strung with 6Kg line and rarely loose a fish due to the great drag.
I have been a Penn fan all my life and probably the second best reel I have ever owned was a Squidder that I salmon fished with all through my teens. This was stolen about 5 years ago and I do miss fishing with it.

I've got an early 975 that I haven't used too much because it is too wide for easy casting. I think the 955 is a much better option.
