More pictures and a better review will be posted soon after I get my technique perfected, but here are the results of my first attempt. The derimming and core swaging had already been done, so all I had to do was core seat and point form. Didn't take much time at all, setup was quite easy, and it was fun!



And the best part -- I no longer have to buy bullets for my AR! Can't wait to see how these group!

Nice job! That is what I like to see. Success right from the start. Might take a little load development but keep us posted. I'm sure they have plenty of potential.

Yes it is a lot of fun. Wait till you see how good they look loaded!

Let me know if there is anything in the set up that I could do to make it any easier for you guys. I think I got it dang near perfected but I always welcome feedback.

My wife informed me I had aSFB arrive from a place in Oregon. She says she has seen that address before several months back. This should be the point forming die. Looking forward to getting home to get a look at it.

@nhrifle Those are beautiful. Do you have any coyotes where you live? Rimfire boolits worked really well on coyotes when I lived in NM. I made a batch about ten years ago with a set of Corbin's dies. They work OK but take longer than I would like. I really, really, want to get one of Brian's complete setups so I can make boolits fast enough that I still have time left to actually take them out and shoot them.

Yep, lots of coyotes here. They are smart enough not to come out during the day and tend to hug the tree line along the cow pasture. I'm not real fond of the critters as I can only imagine what they are doing to the deer population around here but several times a week a couple of packs will bark and howl back and forth for hours. It's one of the wonderful things I love about living in the country. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot one or two though, there are so many around here they could do with thinning their numbers.

The bullets I made were just a handful of cores and cases I pulled out of the respective bins I had been building during the past few months. I did not sort anything for weight, but even so they were quite consistent with a 1.5 grain max weight variance. I am starting to sort cores and jackets by weight so I can produce some uniform bullets for accuracy testing and load development, and of course for a future postal shoot. I will be shooting them through my Encore and my AR, and I'm hoping one of those will be a tack driver with these bullets.
