Hunting season is over and now back to work. Seen a lot of elk, only a few bulls, got one shot a long ways out and missed. Had a good time. One of my girls got to come up and enjoy camp for a weekend, her first time in hunting camp, she had a lot of fun and sure made me feel good to have her there.

Thank you all on my work order list for your patience. I'm back to work and will ship orders just as soon as they are perfect.

    Good shooting and swage on!

I have updated my work order list to break it down into two separate lists.

One list for the orders that require a lot of man hours to complete, I call it the "Labor intensive" list.

    and

One list for the orders that require less time to finish, for whatever reason, that can be worked into my schedule a head of time, I call it my "Quick Turn" list.

There are many times in the shop or any particular day that I have just a couple hour time slot available, such as after dinner late at night or whatever, these are good times for me to work on an order that may require a shorter time to complete. This is when I will grab an order off my quick turn list that I can complete from start to finish in one total effort.

When working on the labor intensive die sets it is best for me to have a good deal of uninterrupted time available to commit my full attention to the tasks at hand, and of course many of these orders require many, many full days worth of work if not weeks. Devoting my full attention to a labor intensive order is necessary to allow me to get into, and stay in the mind set necessary for the completion of the best possible out come to the success and perfection of the set of dies, this is also the reason that taking phone calls in the middle of such a state of mind will completely derail the progress as I must then focus on any number of potential questions dealing with any number of possible calibers and we all know that these phone conversations can easily get off track as many times it will lead to discussing the many number of guns in one's arsenal or the hunting/shooting experiences they may have had with each gun. Of course I am not apposed to phone calls and will happily discuss and answer any questions the customer may have but most times if I'm in the shop a message will be required and a return call or email at a latter time on my part will be required.

Keeping with the "mind set" topic here, this is also why I will group together or work on at the same time particular customer orders that are of the same type or caliber. When doing machine work it is not always making the part that takes the greatest amount of time but the "set up" and changing of the machinery/tooling that takes the most amount of time and effort.

Then there are times when working on a labor intensive orders it can be a very mentally exhausting task to complete. When a big order like this is completed it is a bit refreshing for the brain to grab an order off the short term list and complete it before jumping into the next highly challenging set of dies on the labor extensive list. This keeps things fresh, new or exciting which is very essential to me in avoiding any sort of "burn out" that may occur working on such labor extensive and/or highly technical orders.

I have been attempting to figure out how to explain why or how some orders could be finished before or after others. I think breaking it down into two lists like this will help a bit more for both me and my customers to get a better idea of how soon their order may be ready to ship.

My ultimate goal is to ship all orders in a timely manor but also to be able to give more accurate time estimates to completion dates for those orders that will require a lot more labor then others.

It is my attempt here and now to keep my customers and myself better informed as to the process for which orders get completed. My fear is that a customer may become offended if they see their order taking longer then others. I hope I may have offered a bit of info here as to why one particular order may take more or less time to complete then others and I hope I can continue to better inform my current and future customers as to the potential time it will take to complete their current or future order. I feel breaking the work order list into two separate lists according to the amount of labor involved (either physically or mentally) will give me and my customers a better idea of the amount of time it will take to complete their order.

I do not feel I am behind on my current orders, matter of fact orders have been going very well with many shipped in the last few weeks. I also haven't been getting any concerned inquires from customers as to the status of their orders. This allows me the time and mind set I need to work in the shop rather then type here on the computer or talk on phone, to this I must say Thank You to all of you that may have or continue to wait longer then both of us my have initially anticipated. It is my goal that you are able to kept informed to the status of your order threw this work order list during your wait and that ultimately your BTSniper swage dies and the bullets they make was/is worth the wait.

Thank you to all of you for your continued support and patience.

Happy Holidays and Good Shooting into the new year!

Making progress on my "labor intensive" orders and results are looking very good.

Started new "2019 completed orders" thread where customers on my current list can find shipped and completed dates for their orders.

I "unplugged" from online activity for a bit, did a bit of reloading for myself in preparation for upcoming ground squirrel season.

Back to work now and things are going very well.

Thank you for your patience to those of you waiting on an order.

Locked myself in shop, machining new dies. Looks like this run will consist of 97 new swage dies, around 55 draw dies/derim dies, 25 threaded Lee ram tops and various other tooling.

New die in this lot will include a new VLD 22 cal die to make bullets in the 80-100 grain range.

Probably take me 2-4 weeks or so to complete machining of these dies then will ship to Nitride.

Thanks to the few of you on my work order list for your patience.

Progress is coming along well on machining new dies. I expect to ship to Nitride soon, their turn time is pretty quick so I expect dies back soon after that.

Thank you for your patience to the few on my list.

Finished the 25 dies from post #416 before I left for elk season, upon returning I had the 40 draw and derim dies to finish. I am down to only 10 more draw dies to go.

Took me a three days to clean and polish all the swage diesjust to get them ready for Nitride. I have started boxing them up and will be shipping to Nitride very soon.

    Thanks for your patience.
