So, where are the forum rules? I couldn't find them. Most forums I've been on, companies can't push their products unless they are sponsors, and then only in the vendor area. Is this not true here?

Alright folks, everyone take a chill pill, I know I'm the newb here but can we concentrate more on the topic of thread and stop bashing people, procedures and/or products unless backed by evidence and is directly related to this thread?

I got to shoot some piglit style pc in 9mm 147gr in an ar15 9mm surpressed and a glock 17 surpressed.
Very happy with the results. Will move forward to more loading and settling on a stander load for both. Happy, happy.

    Agreed!

Maybe someone can start a new topic named "Cat Fight" where all the bickering can occur, leaving these threads for constructive information.

No, some just don't understand that 'proprietary' is IP and protected under law. Just like top secret & a patent. Run a mass-spec on it, copy & sell, you go to court and lose big time. IMHO Hi- Tek is providing help on the use of his product.
    Whatever!

I took my BP pill this morning. I am amazed at the OPs who are offended when the press is used to try to take away guns from us but are not offended when Castbooits is used to try to take away someones property. I'm outta this thread.
    Whatever!

Nobody living today is the one who has invented phenol formaldehyde resins.
They are the earliest commercial synthetic resin.
About 100 years or so old.
Impossible to get a patent if You are not called "Apple Inc."

So if some one-man company claims to manufacture phenol formaldehyde resins and to have invented those, You know what to think.
And I do not call it an invention if somebody puts a new label on a can.

By the way, I do not think that there are any one-man companies manufacturing synthetic resins.

Hey, what problem does lacquer thinner solve? Does it reduce clumping, give longer "working time", smoother finish, or what? I've been pretty happy with Piglet Coating, so if lacquer thinner improves it even more I'd be overjoyed. Just trying to understand what it improves.

My Piglet boolits prevent leading, but have kind of a gritty feel. So it smoother finish is the result, I'm there!

    Thanks

Hmm.. IP is only protected by agreement internally. Patents have the data published externally. If someone "figures out" a formula and then makes a substitute good, and was not a part of the original company.. IP by definition does not apply. If it did then we wouldn't be able to buy generic Velveeta at the store! Bad argument there. IP would apply if the secret sauce was divulged to Piglet and then he went out and disclosed it or made a substitute good. And likely even then an non-disclosure is usually needed to enforce.

The fact that a "crowdsource" of people are trying to develop a substitute good to something that isn't patented (at least here in the US) is perfectly OK. IIRC correctly the Hi-Tek stuff isn't patented, is it?

But I'd have to agree that having a separate from the three PC threads "b$tch" thread would be a good idea. I don't see the back and forth stopping and it actually being somewhat useful in it's own way.

Its actually quite easy to get a patent, you can also get one using a resin in a different condition or formula than has ever been done before. It just has to be a noval application and not prior art (commercial or in print). I am on 8 patents at the present, 5 as first person. All using a commercial obtained Microchip microcontroler in applications that never had micros and to add features for those applications that have never been done before. This locks out scandels from stealing my ideals and making competive products with it or even using it for their own use.
All it takes to get a patent is a good ideal and about $20K for the patent lawyer. Since my employer wanted patent protection he paid for it.

Just to clarify some misconceptions about all this stuff. You can patent anything, there are different kinds. The PO is so poor in checking for fraud. JD & PO have declared international patents (INP) supersede US patents, so outside the US version is worthless. Many USP have been zeroxed and INPs issued to a different owner. INPs are only useful in countries that will prosecute (forget China). Sweden declared all patents null and void in Sweden, so many countries declared they would confiscate Swedish product with illegal infringement. Don't mix up NonDisclosureAgreement to IP. Effectively, IP is the same as patented but you don't publicly disclose the details, actually has tougher penalties it usually involves malicious espionage. If you develop someone else's IP from your own work, you need to be able to prove, in court, that it was completely independent work -very hard to do. If you reverse engineer, for a profit, you are guilty. My brother was a witness 2 yrs ago in an IP case, IP is protected by law. USP is good for 7 years, renewable for $$, indefinitely, but the $$ get pretty big.
edit: looks like today at the range will get rained out. note - if you have a government manufacturing contract, all your patents are assigned to the gov. In the 70's that also applied to IP, trade & manufacturing secrets. Big $$ added to bid price to cover 'royalty' fees. I don't have any patents, most I've seen in the last 20 yrs or so have been to pad corporate and individual resumes. Dad had one for B-29 electric motor design with GE, interesting read, was a new invention, he chuckled and said he got a dollar for it.
Piglet - Coca-Cola (TM) was developed and the formula kept secret by an individual who is no longer alive, go tell the company you are 'owed', they must put the formula in public domain. Or you could use the argument that they are ripping us off for the $$ we pay for colored/flavored water. BTW, they make more profit from bottled water annually.
I don't care if Hi-Tek makes his stuff from bull snot and dog pee, if it works and the $ is right, OK by me. H-T gave you a warning shot. Keep it up, you may get a 16 x20#er broadside.

    "I'm outta this thread."

And yet you are still here. Why keep clogging this thread up with nonsense. Hi-Tek drones go away. Go to your own thread. Keep your word and go away.

That's funny, Popper has contributed greatly to the powder coating subject! In fact, on page 5 he told someone to stay on topic. Who the heck are you to tell someone that they can or cannot contribute?

Bull snot and dog pee, maybe that is the secret formula?
Maybe the smell was not bakelite-like after all?
Now I am REALLY SCARED!! Broadside and everything...

Why would I copy an inferior product?
I am not planning to paint my bullets with some 100-years old diluted originally cheap but now expensive 2-component glue that smells burned bakelite.

I am using the free non-secret piglet method, epoxy PC, no accelerator, unlimited pot life, no leading and no smell.

"Who the heck are you to tell someone that they can or cannot contribute?"

It was his idea not mine. I suggest reading the posts in question again as you missed it when he said he was not going to post here anymore. All I have to say is contribution is good. Saying "I'm outta this thread." and then continue to post long post complaining about how unfairly Hi-Tek has been treated.Look at his recent post, how are they contributing or "on topic?" They are not. Look at posts 236, 246, 250, 256, bunch of malarkey. Not on topic.

    So once again:

    "I'm outta this thread."

And yet you are still here. Why keep clogging this thread up with nonsense. Hi-Tek drones go away. Go to your own thread. Keep your word and go away.
