    Lost an Uncle

    My Dads brother passed yesterday 89 yr.
    He served USN 42-44.
    Raised a couple of kids that weren't his an 1 that was.

    He had a stroke about 10yr ago but recovered well. He and my Aunt lived indepently until just recently.

    Sorry to hear of your loss.
    This just made me realize I have no Uncles and only one Aunt left. I'm running out of Peers.

    RIP Buddy

    According to Veterans Affairs out of 16,112,566 veterans of WW2 there were only 1,462,809 left as of Nov 2012. As a kid I think every male teacher I had was a WW2 vet! Some of the females were too!

    It would seem that I too am rising top of the family tree. I've as many grandkids as blood elders.My grandmother is still w/us at 92. My Dad and his other brother are 74 and 77. My Mom and her sister are are 69 and 66.
