I use a small amount of the same lube I make my grease cookies out of and rub it in with a finger. A very small amount goes a long way. Be sure to rub it in the same direction as the patch is wrapped. But you can shoot them dry lube isnt neccesary. Use whatever lube your using for the cookie SPG, nasa, bull shops, emmerts. Even plain beeswax will work. I do it more to water proof the paper patch than for lubricant.

You can lube your paper but just be sure that what ever you use doesn't contaminate or weaken the paper.
Jojoba oil works well to wipe on to the exposed patch.
Long range rules, the rest drool.

Don...does the Jojoba oil waterproof them? Always wondered what was used in the Rooster jacket waterproofing. Thanks.

I suppose it does about as good of a job of water proofing the rounds as anything. It turns into a thin wax when it dries.
I just put a drop on my finger and wipe the exposed patch and bullet, then wipe off the excess from the bullet and the case.
Long range rules, the rest drool.

I picked that little deal up from the reloading instructions in the 1875 Remington catalog. As the last of the sperm whale were caught out of Rawhide Creek several years ago, the only option was jojoba oil. One of those little 1 oz bottles will last an eternity for just wiping down the patches.
You can get the 1 and 4 oz bottles at the GNC in Scottsbluff, and I would imagine if you go to Rapid you can find it in the healthfood and natural food stores there. Someone said that Walgreens carries it but I haven't been in a Walgreens store in a long long time.
Sometimes it helps turn a sneezer load into a good one, other times not so much.
Long range rules, the rest drool.
