Walnut media and size of container

Well after reading about this stuff i got enough to fill one of my tumblers.

It does a fine job somewhat faster than the cob does.Well thinking ahead i figured i best get me some more, this time i ordered some lizard bedding.

Not knowing how much came in a bag, because no weights were shown,i ordered 3 bags.

I now feel that i should not run out of walnut media for a looong time.

Now i have to get a 30 gallon trash can to store it long term.

For others inclined to order the bedding off the internet, for heavens sake just get 1 bag.

You should have seen the wife's look when she saw it.

I believe there are approximately 28 lbs in a 25qt bag of lizard litter. It seems a little heavier than the 25lb bag of dog food I used for comparison. Of course I didn't weigh the bag I bought before I used it...that would have made too much sense! If you are near a Petsmart, they may be able to get it in stock for you so you don't have to pay shipping.

The local abrasives media dealer has walnut for $35/50. The last bag I bought was from petcto $25/25, so the media place is a fair deal. Just a thought.

Seems like a lot of people would just buy or make a big SS tumbler before they got in so deep they needed 50 lbs of walnut at a time.
