    .316 Bore, .325 Groove 1888

    Any yall tried paper patches and bp in the 1888?

    Dumb question maybe but: do you mean the Kommission Gewehr 88 right?

    I paper patched (wet, 2 wraps) a couple of .314" boolits up to.324" but perhaps I should start from something with a bigger diameter. However I didnīt try them yet but I was planning to use smokeless anyway.

    Yep, one of them. This one was reworked by Richard Hoch with one of his cast only barrels many moons ago. Never shot paper in it after it was rebarreled because he also made the mold to match his barrel. Now I'm thinking that yeah, I should give it a try in the "new" barrel. And then I got to thinking about trying black. And, I'm kinda thinking about getting a .30 cal mold opened up to a straight sided for paper.
