OH.....I've been making them alright. I'm in a bit of a quandary at the moment, do I want to make a thread on them right now or do I want to take a break.

I repaired a $300 steering cylinder on my tractor, got the front 1 acre mowed, re-did the 1/4 mile of driveway, worked the beginning 1 of 4 miles of the road, moved 600 cu ft of dirt and have more to do before winter sets in.

To date I've done a few K of those in both configurations, so I have the procedure down pretty well. So right now I'm out of the parent case, granted all I have to do is order more. These are NOT made from 45LC brass, these are made from 45 S&W brass which have a larger rim diameter than the 45LC does.

These .455's from Grumpa are outstanding! Using the .45 S&W works much better than the .45 Colt, there is simply no way to have it slip the extractor.

As an FYI for USA users, I obtained several hundred .455 MK I cases modified from Starline .45 Schofield brass from Reed's Custom Ammunition in Oklahoma City, OK http://shop.reedsammo.com/455-Eley-4...5eleybrass.htm Cost is $30 per 50 and he can do these in either the Mk I or Mk II length. These are head-turned to the SAAMI-CIL dimensions as to rim thickness.

He also has loaded ammunition of Mk I or Mk II type, loaded with smokeless powder and approximating the original ballistics. Very pleasant chap to deal with.

Latest info; I just found that Starline is making shorter 455 Webley MkII brass. Well, this one is not my cup of tea, but if some shooters want it, it's available:

    • 250 ($105.00)
    • 500 ($194.00)
    • 1000 ($372.00)

    https://www.starlinebrass.com/brass-...5-Webley-MKII/

Will inform a dealer in Canada, so if he can order it, and eventually sell world wide, this could be good news for our shooters in Europe/UK, Australia and New Zealand.
