Kimber universal sight installation tool kim1001486a

Does anyone here us this tool? If so will it work on any make and model or is it just a 1911 clone tool? I need a good sight pusher but really can't justify the upper end ($400 and up) units. This Kimber tool looks like it would do the job and if it is indeed "universal" that would be nice.

Looks pretty universal in the pix, but I have never used one.

If it was easy, anybody could do it.

That looks very much like the one I made to use on my Kimber Royal II. It needed the rear sight adjusted right out of the box shooting a smidge left of POA. Kimber told me that they press the sights into the dovetails using a hydraulic ram. I've read plenty of stories where folks needed to adjust or remove the original Kimber sights and have distroyed light duty sight pushers trying to do so because they are so tight.

This one cost about $10 to build and was quite easy to do. Worked like a champ and didn't leave any marks on either the slide or the sight body.

    I hope this helps!
