    Vickerman seating dies

Does anyone know if GMW is still making Vickerman universal straight line seating dies? I did a google search and came up empty handed.

I really like those dies, and have a few different calibers which I have been using for many years. Now that I'm getting back into .22CF shooting I find myself wanting one in .22. (If anybody has one I would be interested in it! I also have an extra 6.5mm die I would swap/sell.)

Mecham Tool makes them now. I thought they were made so that one die body could be used for various calibers by switching out the bushing in the die?

    go to ponsess warrens websight.
they have one that is a ringer for the vickerman.
you just drop the bullet in the **** and the bushing holds it in place.
they have different bushings and nose punches.
I have one and it works pretty sweet.

Vickerman Dies separated from GMW as its own entity. You can find the dies at www.vickermandies.com

While the slotted opening is nice, for the cost on their webpage the Forster die is the superior tool. The Hornady while not having the slot works the same way for a reasonable savings. Both use standard shell holders.

I have an older Vickerman in .30 caliber. Maybe you can buy just the innards for your .22 loading...just a thought.

The RCBS Competition seater is similar to the Vickerman - actually better than the Vickerman.

It has the window and you can buy interchangeable seating sleeves and punches so you only have to buy one die.

It has a micrometer hand adjustment that is very convenient. However the die is just as expensive as anyone else's Vickerman type die.

I took the internals out of a Vickerman 22 and should have them some place. I will look this wekend.

Holy thread revival. After 5 and half years is a long time to still be looking for something.

Ha....I didn't notice the data of the OP. I will save myself the search.

I have been using Vickerman seating dies since 1963. Today I only have two and both are in 30 cal. One has a sleeve .308 for jacketed bullets and the other sleeve is custom made .3125 for cast bullets.

This is the best design for concentric bullet seating, and the most accurate ammo, condom or boolit.
