    77/44

Picked one up yesterday at the LGS. Sweet little gun, shot it about 100 time last night. LEE 240 SWC TL and Red Dot powder. LEE 310 and 2400. Shoots the 310 low without enough elevation in the rear sight. It will cloverleaf at 25 yards with the open sights. Really like this gun. "BUT" last night when I cleaned it I noticed the barrel was over rotated in the receiver. Sights lean to the left in respect to the flat top of the receiver. Have to send her back I guess. I'm left handed and messed around shooting right handed with it last night. That bolt handle is right handy when ya shoot one that way.

Yes, I can clearly see it.

Yep, that one needs to head back to Ruger ASAP.

They must have hired some of the guys left over from Marlin. I used to see this on Marlins right before they changed hands.

Ruger will fix it in a timely manner. Kind of a PITA but it needs to be done.

If you call them they may even pay the shipping both ways.

Makes one wonder how much they really look at them during build. You think someone would have caught it. Picked up to many new levers the past couple years with same problem. Where has pride gone? Gtek

I've had several Rugers that had barrels turned too far in. The last one was a SP101. I was still working for USFWS (U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service) and it was my concealed carry weapon so I used official letterhead stationary and sent it 2nd Day Air for correction. It arrived there in two days. They had it one day. It was back in my hand by the end of the week. While they had it they checked it over completely and corrected a few other small things that were done wrong in manufacture. It came back as a real great shooter. They did a great job and with good quick service.

Well, don't feel bad! I have a Marlin 41 mag lever, Davidson's model, that had the sights on straight but the barrel was cocked left about 10 yards left at a hunnert! Found out, via the Marlin smithies, the actions were threaded by drunks. That was late 1990s. No, I am not going to have Marlin "nobody" fix this gun. If they can't get it right the first time, they will get no second chance! I ONLY let BR folks (in attitude) fix my guns. However, it takes time to find them who will work on things like lever guns for entertainment remuneration. ... felix

When you send that gun back include a letter addressed to Mark Gurney telling him exactly what is going on.

I bet it comes back right the next time.

They really have little tolerance for this kind of thing at Ruger and if there are FU's working on the production line they will be removed and the problems corrected. This is the same thing that drove Marlin into the ground and believe me Ruger Management understands this perfectly well.

Getting the attention of one of the senior PR guys is a great way to get exactly what you want.

This is what I do. It's a "Squeaky Wheel" kind of thing. Some think it is a character flaw of mine. I see it as getting what I want, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with that.

They said they were going to red flag it so it would go to a Lead person. We'll say what happens.
