Regarding the .454" slugs, what did they weigh?

I have an H&G #51 mold which is a 160grn bullet and is an H&G #43 with a shorter nose so it will chamber in the 357 cylinders. That's what it was made for according to H&G.

NOE sent them out and had Elmer sign them. I think that's what took so long. Must have been the good place as the molds I got had not been heat cycled.

Speaking of Mr. Keith...found this some time ago...surprised the link still works. Elmer Keith talking about his younger years.

Anyone have an idea of when the .454 will be done? I didn't get in in the group buy, but hoping to pick up one of the extras.

If I'm not mistaken, Elmer died quite awhile before there was an NOE. Pretty hard to have him sign them! But a copy of his signature has been engraved on the side for the group buy "Real Keith" molds.
I still question the "Real Keith" business as everything I ever read stated that Elmer finally went to H&G to have his design done properly. These would be the 38/357 #43, the 41 # 258, the 44 #503 and the 45 #501. H&G claimed that these were the authentic Keith designs.

Well, hell, If Elmer didn't really sign them I guess I'll just send them back.

Yea, but he obviously came back to write the book. That just makes him "well traveled".

I talked with Al after getting home from the NRA AM Louisville and they were at the engravers.

It takes a bit to assemble when they get back

Paid for mine when I got the email yesterday.

I'm going to stop by and see if I can pick it up in just a bit. I'll post some pics of the finished product if I get some time before taking off for the cabin.
