They are probably priced too high in my opinion. The CVA Kentucky rifles seem to sell for $75 to $125 around here if in really nice shape. Hard to get $100 out of one with any rust on it, the jukar pistol would usually sell in the same price range (jukar was a Spanish company that supplied CVA and, I believe, Traditions with guns). Possibly the demand might be higher where you are but these guns usually don't bring the money that a Thompson Center or other higher grade gun will.
Not very high quality guns. I wouldn't buy them unless extremely cheap and those aren't.

as far as market value, im not sure, i have not been looking at black powder guns but for a few months.
but i have noticed that out where i am in CA, prices are higher than other parts of the country.

Well I can't add any more to the list of guys that would not buy. If any rust is there, I mean any at all I won't give anything but the value of the stock. For instance, TC Renegade rust in barrel fantastic stock double triggers 150 to 180 tops. If the lock is rusted then the price drops to about 100. Ron
andrew, if your prices are high you might watch gunauction.com they occasionally have older tc's that go for decent money and they are good guns for the money. I don't know if shipping to cal would be a problem?

Round here the CVA rifle wouldn't bring more than $75 and it would be used as a "back up" and camp gun, good for a kid just starting out also. The pistol, would be $50 tops and probably one of the re-enactor types would get it. Used ML hammer guns just don't have much market unless high end hand made heirloom/museum grade stuff. My $.02

I agree with the posts here. Nothing wrong with the guns, I have a few myself but nothing spectacular either. Fun to shoot though. I'd offer $125 for the rifle and $75 for the pistol and see if he takes it. Look around otherwise, they are a dime a dz.

Junk, I wouldn't even take them for free.
I'd pass on them and run, not walk, away. There are decent guns out there for reasonable prices especially comparing quality vs quality. You can still get a custom gun built in months for prices that might surprise you. A good place to start might be with Mike Lange. I have one of his rifles and couldn't be more pleased. http://mikelange.homestead.com

I have never seen this guy before. Do you mind posting some pics of the gun he built for you. Im wanting to upgrade my crockett to a flintlock Tennessee style rifle. Not wanting to get to wild with prices and this looks like a good option.
