Yesterday we spent 8 hrs. at the range for this year's official .22 caliber 4-H shooting event. Ammo is non-existant in the stores of our area and has been for awhile, yet we had a big crowd of kids. The officials were awesome, and I was proud to be there. Shooting is one more character-building recreational event for kids to participate in. It's not for everyone, but it does fill a niche. I know I'm biased, but I think the things learned in this sport will benefit kids for the rest of their lives––things like safety consciousness, concentration, listening to directions, responsibility, consideration of others, sharing, etc. I think this sport is even more beneficial than a lot of popular organized sports. I hope things return to normal soon, and that we can enjoy many more years of shooting with our children.
Only one shooting a SA.... And she did real well.
