    JPW/alox lube question

I followed the recipe and directions posted by "recluse" about using Johnson's Paste Wax and Lee Liquid Alox. In fact, I made up one batch a couple of days ago. My question is this:
I have a few solid sticks of Javelina Alox lube. If I was to make a batch of the 45/45/10 lube using the Javelina instead of the Liquid Alox, should I use more of the mineral spirits? Anyone here tried this? Thanks.

Well, seeing that the 50/50 contains 50 percent beeswax it won't be nearly the same.

YOu may be able to get the Javelina to dissolve in mineral spirits if heated gently. I would add far less than 50 percent JPW, you are going to have plenty of wax already.

Never tried making it that way. Be sure to let us know how it works.

How do you get the bees-wax to dissolve into the mixture and not separate out - just heat and mix?

yeah I follow recluses recipe sorta and then add the b-wax at the end.
I only add a piece of wax 25% the size of the batch of the lube.
when I apply the lube I heat the boolits with a hair dryer, and fork the lube on.
it just flows and coats the boolits nicely.
I also add more mineral spirits.
the lube feels like 22lr lube.
I have only taken it to just over 2,000 fps in the rifles
i haven't tried it in a revolver yet [I just swaged some swc's to try it with]

    Thanks,

I'm making some up and was wondering if the beeswax would flow as well over the bullets. I put them in a plastic tub shake them and then hit them with the hair dryer and shake again. I want to keep the even coating action - seems like magic the way it spreads and covers.
