    Need some guidance......1909 Argentine action

A buddy dropped of this 1909 Argie action and wondered what it was worth. I haven't a clue, thought I would ask the experts. It's non matching in very good condition with complete crest.Attachment 64060Attachment 64061Attachment 64062

One of the best Mauser actions for custom builds. The magazine release inside the trigger guard is a desired feature. About $100 to $150 .

$100 is not reasonable for this action. $150-175 is more like it. On a really good day and the right buyer you might see $200-225.

I had 2 of the 1909's at one time. Built one into a 30-06 and it would should groups down to 1/2" with selected bullets and the right load. My son has it now. The other I smoothed up and I later sold it to a fellow in New York. They are best Model 98 actions that I ever owned, and I have owned a bunch. I agree with Dutch, and if it were mine, $175.00 wouldn't touch it. james

The trigger guards will sell for $100 to $125 alone. On Gunbroker they have selling for $250 to $350 for non-matching complete actions in good shape.

I think what a buyer is willing to pay is also influenced by what is available locally. I know for a fact that it would be useless to try to find a 1909 Argentine action at a local gun show. I would personally go as high as $225.00 - $250.00 without thinking twice about it.

Wow. Got any more at that price? Where did you sell it? I was looking for one last summer for a build. Everything we found on the web was above $250. It was for a buddy that had to have one. He finally bought a complete rife for the action. He parted it out and still had $200.00 in it. I barreled it for him. If I could find a nice one for $150.00 I would do one for myself.

I have to agree with "Dutchman" and "Dutch 4122" on the price ranges and desire ability of this fine action. Another factor is if the action is DWM made or Argentine made, better price nod to the DWM.Robert

I should have mentioned it is a DWM action, thanks for all the advice.
