    Noe 311299

I spotted an NOE 311299 , 2 cav. aluminum mold on the NOE web site Saturday morning.

By the way, I ordered ( on line ) on Saturday morning, March 2nd , the mold was in my mail box this morning , Tuesday March 5th. That's plenty fast for me ! ! In my opinion, you can't beat Al for his professional business practices that he exhibits.

As many of you know, I enjoy shooting plain based .30 cal. cast bullets. Al had one , Aluminum, 311299, 2 cav. mold left in stock that was made to cast 1 gas checked bullet and 1 plain based bullet .

Can't wait until the weather improves and I can get outside and cast and shoot some of these 299's.

If this mold ( and I KNOW it will be ) is anything like my other NOE molds, I'm going to really enjoy this one.

I can see where you'd need the 314299 bullet in your .31 cal. rifle.

My rifles are all true .30 cal. ,........ 303 " and 304" nose diameters give me chambering problems.

However, a nose dia. or .300 or .301 will work well in my rifles.

Hopefully this one will be a good shooter for me.
I'm particularly anxious to try the plain based version.

Ben, I think we all know that you now have enough moulds. We can only help you when you realise you have a mould collecting problem.

Not when you can order several extra hours in a day and a couple of extra days a month.

That mold is clearly wrong for your gun--but it looks right for mine.

it fits the Argie perfectly. I size it down to 309 for my Rem700 .308. it has enough throat to accept the 303 nose diameter.
The first time out, loaded like 13-14 grains Unique, put 5 shots in 1.5" at hunnerd yards 16 grains 2400 shoots 'bout the same

That sounds like a " double duty " mold to me.
Good in .30 cal. and .31 cal. rifles.

I had an opportunity to get outside yesterday and cast some plain base NOE 311299's.

I've got what I think is some good " numbers " with this bullet.
Drive bands mike .312" and the nose mikes .3015"
Just about ideal , in my opinion, for my applications.

Now to head to the range and test a few, stay tuned..............

These are sized .3115" , lubed with Ben's Red and coated with a thin coat of Lee Liquid Alox. By the way, they each weigh 210 grs.

    Hi Ben,
Nice pics! I find myself slowly but surely going over to the custom mold makers alum. and brass molds! This has been quite upsetting to my beloved RCBS iron molds! I have the NOE Alum. 5 cav. 314299 for my MN ex- sniper rifle.

Silly boolit caster, that is the same as "political" and "correct" used together. "Too many" and "molds" simply cannot be used together, it's complete contradiction of words cancelling each other out.

So. Tell us, how do the plain base versions shoot? They look great. Are you staying in the 1100 1200 fps range or are you shoving them out faster? Alloy soft, hard? Ben you have so much to share I am anxious for your results.

Yes, they will be shot in the 1100 - 1300 fps zone.
They are cast from straight ACWW's.

    Stay tuned..............

    Hi Ben,
I have been on the AR-15 .223 wagon lately using one of the MiHec 226 NATO 4-cav molds and have not shot the Mosin to much lately. However it shoots ALOT better with a boolit that actually fits the throat and bore! I will give info on it when I get back to it as there is alot of varables to play with. I want to shoot it at about 1900 fps and see how good I can get it to shoot.
