I would have a use for an oversize, and, come to think of it, one finished undersize "may" work in the K-31.

I can see the dif in the pics of the modified version but don't know the effect of the modification. what was the change for?
I'd probably be in on the buy also.
I think the only modifacation is going to be make it a little fatter for those that need it. I don't but I am only one buyer.
There is a Lymen Old versioinand New Version. I think the only difference is the front driving band.
David
Various people have stated that they want an 'original' 311041. Just what is that? The bullet I sent 45 2.1 was a lyman mould labled 31141. It came in a white cardboard box with black stripes. Not sure what years they used those boxes. So it isn't a 'new' design but I feel that lyman changes things as cherries wear out and sales vary. So it is possible that there are a number of designs out there with the designation 31141 and eventually 311041. Subtle changes but dimentionally different. So I feel that we need to start talking numbers, designs ect. I don't have the 'other' design so I can't talk to that, but I feel the changes that were made on my version were made to favor or allow for the marlin microbore. Where the winchester bore is .308/.300 the marlin is 308/.303.
(i apologise for the pot stirring)

The black, gray and white boxes date from the period 1969 - 1978 when the former Lyman Gun Sight Corporation was owned by the Leisure Group consortium; the gray-painted tools also date from this period. In 1978, Lyman's Centennial year, J. Mace Thompson bought Lyman out from Leisure Group and it became the present Lyman Products Corporation. This may help in dating various Lyman items - IF they are in their original boxes. It is not surprising that profiles of specific bullet designs varied from cherry to cherry during this period. floodgate
My stomach wouldn't know what to do without its regular ration of ramen. count me in for one, too
Doc
After reading all three pages I'm not sure what I'd be buying. Whoever is heading this up please post the final design and then let's all shut up about what we want vs what we're gonna get, OK?

There is no 'right' that requires me to work for you or you to work for me!
Wayne,
See Post # 30 for a pic. The only change is
301 nose and 312 OD
This will be an exact copy of 31141, OLD version. Should weigh around 174 grains of wheel weights.
Getting more interest as time goes on. I am looking forward to mine.
David
David, are you ready for checks to be sent? If so, please post details. I am looking forward to mine as well. Thanks, BobOriginally Posted by David R

Umm, no. This is my first time at this. I do see quite a bit of interest already.
Which other boards? Accurate arms? This is the only one I use, Its my home.
Suggestions greatfully accepeted
David
I posted it twice on the www.leverguns.com forum.
I'm in.
Let me know where to send the $$$.

Jacketed bullets, what a relic. A throwback to the twentieth century. Real men shoot cast.
A lifetime of happiness in five simple steps:
Kiss French, ride German, shoot Swiss, eat Italian, drink Scotch.
Greybeards is questionable. He generally discouraged the 180gr. 357. Marlinowners, and Beartooth are possibilities. Again, with Beartooth, I feel a little funny because of indirect competition.
Thanks Junior
I just read this over on the Marlin Owers board. Thank you Dr A. I am leaving right now for bow hunting in eastern Washington State. I would like to order this mold. When is the cut off date to send the money?
Black River,
We have not started taking orders yet, we are up to about 17 commitments. When I see 25 commitments or a few more, I will start taking checks for at least one month.
I am not going to rush this, although it seems those that want one REALLY want it.
Where ya from? I lived near the Black River that goes through Watertown NY
