Dry Creek 45 LC 265GR Cast Reload Info.

Looking for some Dry Creek 265Gr 45LC reload info. My Lyman Cast Bullet Handload book lists a 250gr & 270gr 45L.C cast bullet info only. Bootlits are .253(shooting a Ruger 45LC/45ACP, 5 1/2" conv) dia, soft blue lubed and are Keith style with a real nice crimp groove. Any suggestions would be great.

    Tom

Yes, they are. I picked up all kinds of stuff from him. I'll shoot him an e-mail then. Just thought I'd try here first Lynn has his hands full!

I'm sure you meant .453". I'm not familiar with that particular boolit, but from the description, it sounds like the RCBS .45 270 SAA.

I'd suggest you start with 9 grs. of Unique.

Use data for the 270 grain bullet from Lyman manual.

    Take care

Sorry, yes that was a typo. What I ment to type is .453dia 265 grain 45 Colt. I spoke with Lynn yesterday he suggested one of his loads of 8.5 grain Unique using this Keith style bootlit. I loaded them from 7.0,7.5,8.0,8.5 grain see how it goes as soon as we get some kind of warmer weather!

    Thanks,
    Tom

Lynn lives close to me and I visit his shop often, He's a good guy to deal with and has alot of knowledge to go along with it. As far as casting goes he's second to none.

That would be really awsome to visit Lynn's shop, yes can't say enough good about him and his works! Funny enough I live right near Lee manufacturing I put in an order and stop in for pick-up after work. One of my brothers lives right near RCBS in Orville Ca. He too puts in an order and stops in for pick-up!

It's good to be able to pick up an order, I make custom knives and wish I were closer to pick out certain items I use.

If you have any Red Dot on hand you might try 6 grs. Thats my favorite with a 270gr SWC in my blackhawk.
