Welp I've researched casting for a while now and talked to a bunch of old casters and finally got all my stuff to go ahead and do it. Main problem I've been having is getting wheel weights to smelt so I resulted to craigslist. Low and behold I had a fella email me saying he has 334 lbs of ingots and an unsorted 5 gallon bucket of wheel weights he use to use to reload shotshells that he'll sell me. Got it at a pretty good price also. Pretty excited to finally be able to get started casting.
Nice job, getting some alloy seems to be another hump preventing people from casting.
With time you will find other sources to devolop.
Keep the lead feelers out, some day you will drive you heirs crazy with a mountian of lead!

Whats a good price in that area?
I got the ingots for .50 a pound. the unsorted wheel weights for 35 for the bucket. At least I thought it was a good price, as I've had other people offer to sell me lead for 1-1.50 per pound.

Not only did he say he will give me a call whenever his shop fills another bucket, but he also recommended that I go visit a buddy of his at another shop and tell him that he sent me and I should be able to get weights there also.
