The Laser Cast Reloading manual doesn't list either of those powders. Now they do list the following though no min/max and it states not to use in a pistol with fully supported chambers. OAL 1.165 is the same for all.

Lee's 2nd Ed doesn't list any of the powders either. Lyman's Cast bullet book doesn't list a 155 gr but does list a 150 gr for H-6 min 6.3 gr @ 1038 fps to max 8.8 @ 1224 fps. Lyman's 49th Ed. Lists only a 155 gr Jacketed Silver tip with H-6 with min 7.6 gr @ 988 to max 8.5 gr @ 1089 fps. Hopefully that will help.

A good starting point for 155 with hs-6 would be 7.4gr for cast, but tite group at 4.6gr would have less smoke from what I have seen (ymmv) I have found that using data for the next up weight jhp is just about the starting load for cast. COAL is the part that you need to look around for but I am seeing 1.125-1.135 I use 1.130 on my wifes rounds as it runs well in her sig. With my hodgdon powder I use hs-6 for my carry rounds (more push) and tite-group for target and cast rounds. Tite-group will load more per lb too.
I use 3.6 to 4g of TG with a 155g LRN with an OAL of 1.155 in my Para 1640. It all depends on what type of match I am shooting.

I think I will use a different powder for the cast bullets
I did load some jacketed and plated bullets in 9 mm and 40 cal and everything went well
I will now bench both guns to see how we'll they are shooting

The reason for not using Titegroup in the .40 is that it gets very "spikey" with pressure near the top, maybe it's just me but it seems a lot worse in that tiny case than in other, more volumous cartridges. If you have an issue where you seat the boolit too deeply for the data you're using or if the boolit sets back in the case under recoil or chambering, it can be dangerous very easily.
I use a lot of it in .40, but with mild loads, softer boolits, and my ducks are very much in a row with custom-sized expander spuds and boolit size/seating depth. Done properly for target-level loads, Titegroup is very clean and accurate.
HS6 is excellent for the .40, but it's very dirty until you get the pressure up near the top.
The loading data in Lyman #49 is very good data to go by for this, I recommend picking up one of those books.

I have been using TG for some time now. I love the Berry's plated 180 gn with a starting load of 4.5 gns. I don't venture much past 4.7.
Actually TG is good for most of my plated rounds. I load several thousand rnds of 9mm, 40 s&w, and 45 ACP. I use hp-38 and BULLS-EYE for 38 spl and .357.
