...I acquired some old bed knives off a commercial greens mower from the local golf course. They're really good high-carbon--not sure exactly what else is alloyed, but they HT really well and once the edge is dressed, they take a frightening edge.
Here's a full-length bush knife I did for another member here recently.
And then here's "little Brother". Gave this one to my boss just before Elk season last year--he was taking his son out for the first time, so I'd hoped his son might bloody it well. Unfortunately, it will have to wait till next season and try again.
And then my "bush beater" at the bottom... It's seen some use. I could still shave with it though--if I shaved.
