I am shooting the Lyman 264gr GC bullet out of my 17.5in Encore. I have the RD 235gr GC, but for my applications, the Lyman suits "me" better. If I can help you any let me know.

I have played around with the JDJ more with jacked bullets.

    Thanks for the info TCTex.
I am interested in your Lyman 264gr loads.

Like you I have been useing only jacketed bullets up to now.

This is what I have so far.
    200 gr Sierra 51.0 gr IMR 4895 1 1/8" @ 100yds.
    220 gr Hornady51.0 gr IMR 4895 1 1/2" @ 100yds.
    220 gr " 39.0 gr H 4198 1.0" @ 100yds.
    235 gr Speer 50.0 gr IMR 4895 1 1/2" @ 100 yds.

I've started trying some cast boolit loads.
MUCH MORE ECONOMICAL & easier on the shoulder.

    250 gr Lee # 375-250RF,
    Wheel weights,
    sized to .377
45.0 gr IMR4895 with dacron filler Vel 2249
( way too fast!) 6" group!

Will try this again with 32.0 gr.
Looking for a vel of around 1600FPS. Should be much more accurate too.

Same cast boolit with 40.0 gr IMR 4198 & dacron filler Vel 2315.

Also way too fast & 5" group. Will drop this load to 30gr & retry.

    Will post results here.

BTW the barrel on that Handirifle is 24"

    That's pretty cool!

What platform are you shooting the 375 JDJ out of? Contender, Encore, or ???

I will rummage threw what I have and see what I can give you. I remember getting a 1.5-2 in groups last time I went out many moons ago, but that was also when I was using Lee Tumble lube and I was getting 2150 with that hunk of lead.

The best load I have found so far is with the 250gr Game King. One ragged hole at 100 yards, but like you said, shooting cast bullets is a loooooooot more economical.

I am casting from straight WW's as well. Do you have the Lyman or RD mold? I bring up the RD because NOE is doing a run on it right now. He isn't done cutting them yet, but he usually cuts a few extras. If you watch his sight you should be able to pick up one. FWIW

Thanks for the infoTCTex. The only mold that I have is the Lee. Where do I find the RD mold that NOE is making? I would like to see it.

Im useing this. I stubbed my handi rifle with a 375 barrel & chambered it to 375 JDJ.

    Here is the group buy:

    http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...-235Gr-RF-(RD)

It closed the end of Jan, however, NOE usually cuts a few extra to put up for sale in his store.

I have bought a couple of different molds by watching the online store until they were posted. They were originally designed by Ranch Dog who went out of business last fall.

Still searching for my data, I am going to try and find it tonight.

I was using H332 and H4895 with the Lyman 264 GC. I can PM you with more details, I just don't want to list it here because they are not "Contender friendly." (Go figure, they are the top two performers in with the 270gr Hornady... LOL)

I was getting 2200fps with my 17.5in barrel. You should be able to back them off a hair with your barrel.

Doug, I look forward to your range report!

Have a funny suspicion that I will be learning as much as you are on this one... LOL.
