I didn't get my two molds yet, but I did get two red cards from the postman today saying there are two packages at the PO waiting for signatures! They're in town!

Grabbed a package at the PO this morning. It's beautiful. Haven't had time to heat it up yet, but so far I love it.

    Thanks Miha!

As soon as mine comes in, I'll cast and load some. Spread the word with pics and range reports.

Recieved both of mine just a few days apart. Great looking moulds. Think I messed up and did not order cup pins for either mould.

Thanks for the great work MIHI.

I'm really looking forward to spending some quality time with this mold and making a bunch of bullets.

Hoping to cast some up tonight. I'm thinking Penta's for the .38, small HP's for the .357, and maybe flat points for eventual use in the .351WSL.

I just cast up a few bullets. This was my first brass mold; it took longer to heat, and therefore longer to make purty bullets, but I did nothing to it other than a quick scrub with a plastic bristle brush and Dawn, heated it, and started casting.

I used the Penta and small HP pins; bullets absolutely fell off the pins as fast as I could dump them out, until I got it really hot, then I just dumped them into the palm of my gloved hand and they needed only the slightest of coaxing. I had no trouble maintaining a cadence of pour, cool sprue, cut, dump, close, pour again.

It's going to take some getting used to the weight of brass, but I'm going to work on that. I made a small pile of bullets, pentas weighed 158.5 and smalls weighed 160.5 using a mixture that was ~75/25 coww/soww with a little less than 2% tin added. I'll try to size, lube, and load some tomorrow and see how they do.

    So far so good.

Given the long nose of this bullet (compared to what I'd been shooting) I wasn't afraid to go straight to the load I'd been using with a different bullet in my .38s; that is a max load of 700-x and Tula primers.

I sized a few bullets to .358, loaded them, and shot them out of the .38 snubbie this morning. Average 775' at 10' from the muzzle.

I saved one round to shoot into water for the purposes of getting a pretty picture of an expanded bullet. Unfortunately it didn't expand well enough to stop in the water tube; it exited the other side. I'll try to get a longer trough fixed up and report back.

The little guy on the right was a small hollowpoint over 14.5 grains of 2400 in a 6" .357.

I might have to see how many Miha has left of this mold.
My assumption is this is geared toward .38 special .357 Magnum ?
If so that would be perfect. I have been cruising for a .38-.357 mold, as I do not have one ....Yet

    See post 143.
Just send him a PM with whichever one you want (basically 2 or 4 cav, HP or solid, and GC or not) and include your PP address and he'll invoice you.

    Great pictures C. Latch!

What is your alloy/hardness and muzzle velocity for the penta?

This was my original thought when I proposed the mold, Blanco.

I cast a bunch of solids last night. Now to find the time to load, then find the time to shoot. C. Latch has me drooling.

Never mind, I just saw your post where you gave all the data. Thanks C. Latch! Great report
