    311041 plain base

    Anyone have any luck w/the 311041 plain base? Loads? accuracy?

    I have a 311041 plain base that I bought maybe 6 years ago and have never used it and am returning to cast boolits after a bit of a layoff. )

    Don, I got in that group buy myself for the plain base. The group buy for the 311041 gas check showed up first so I cast a pile with that one. I sized them (the gas checked) to .310 and lubed with LBT soft. I have been loading them in the 30-30 with a charge of 7 grains of Unique. Maybe this summer if I get a spare minute I'll try the plain base out with the same charge of Unique as its a fun accurate shooting light load. I just hope I live long enough to cast with some of my group buys molds I have not used yet.

    Shooting the plain base 311041 can't be so very different than my friends plain base Lee 180 gr. You may get some loading data suggestions in the link below:

    14.5 gr 4227 in a 7.62x39 this is fairly hot and i would consider it a max load start at 14 gr. in your rifle ...
    this 14.5 gr load functions my sks and throws the brass @ 3-4 feet havnt shot enough of them for accuracy ..
