    "Dutch Boy" Lead

Found about 8# of this stuff, it's the ends of some "lead" bars which are marked "111" and the Dutch Boy logo. One of the partial bars has "NATI" and another one "LEAD" so I'm pretty sure it's a lead alloy. It seems really hard. Does anyone know the composition?

Side note: I also found some other small bars marked "40/60". Is that 40% Tin and 60% Lead? Hate to throw alloy away, but I also don't need any Zinc in the mix.

The National Lead Co. 111 bars are 50/50 tin and lead. Do a search on that number and you will find several discussions of it.

The small bars are probably old automotive body lead, 40% tin and 60%lead. Good stuff.

If you had a complete bar, betcha it would read "National Lead." National lead is the parent company of the Dutch Boy brand.

You guys are 100% correct. I found a complete bar - it has NATIONAL LEAD, the DB logo and 111. Glad I asked before throwing this stuff out - I need the Tin. (And the Lead, for that matter).
    Thanks.
