While slower than red dot, it just feels more spikey for lack of a better term, when firing in 30-06 class guns. 12 grains is about my standard, it does ok but isn't y favorite.

Have also used it for 12 gauge. Very mild for 1oz loads with the wads I was using, just about right for 1.25 oz. Only tried it in .38 special with pistols, did ok, nothing to write home about; I felt it a little too slow for what I was doing.

    Old thread revival!

I have an unopened 4 pound jug of 4756 and wondered if I would ever use it. I think I bought it in 2013.

Well - I have a Browning M53 in 32-20 headed my way and I think I will be trying the 4756 out in her!

Between Ken Waters' writings and this thread, 4756 seems like a very under-appreciated powder!

It was so under appreciated that they discontinued it..

It sort of lost favor to those loading heavy lead shotshells and didn't quite make velocity of steel shotshells like Alliant Steel does.

I have about a half pound of it. Looks like it'll be great for loading low pressure loads in 16 gauge when I get to that.

i used it in the 80's for cast lead pistol and rifle loads for nra pistol/rifle silhouette matches. i got about 2 pounds from a 1984 five pound can that i am loading a bunch of 38 special with a powder coated 158 gr bullet to shoot in a 10 inch tc pistol for hunter pistol matches. i like the powder and wish i got many pounds of it before they stopped making it, but i did not.

I want to see 4759 come back. Good medium pressure powder. Great for old rifles.
