    Well, I'm really hooked now

Couldn't wait to get home last night as I knew I had a package waiting for me from Midway with my .45 reloading and casting supplies. Got the order in real fast, so great service from Midway! \
But when I checked out my new mold I got a surprise. I ordered a TL452-200swc and that is what the label on the box says but the mold is stamped 452-230. So it appears I rec'd a TL452-230swc and that is fine with me as I wasn't sure which one to order anyway. I did send a note to Midway and let them know about it.
I did the cleanup on it and went out to my garage and fired up my pot and started casting some .45 bullets. After about 20 or so it started working pretty good and in about an hour and a half I had 200 bullets casted. The mold dropped them at .453 at the seam and .454 accross, so I ran them all thru the sizer and thay came out at exactly .452 all the way around. Mixed up some alox/JPW and tumbe lubed them and will reload some tonight.
I didn't realize how much fun this was going to be to cast my own bullets!
Now I'm already thinking about other molds!LOL

Randy - I could have missed it, but you didn't mention tumble lubin before sizing. We do need to do this to avoid lead accumulating in your sizing die. Just a thought. Mike You're gonna get hooked, you know..... I see the symptoms already.

I'm about to burst reading this stuff.
I was told to wait until after Saturday just in case someone already got me anything for my birthday.
I just want to get a mold, and a sizer/luber. Anything to just mold my first boolits!!!!

I think if you weigh some of your boolits you'll find that you did in fact get to TL452-200SWC, just that the mould is mismarked. At least that's what the boolits you cast from it look like, the 230gr isn't a SWC, it a 2R roundnose. You got some of Lee's new design 2 cavity moulds, so I'm betting there still working out some kinks in the lazer engraving of the moulds.

First time I seen the new molds. Looks like a good improvement.
Lube before sizing and lube again after if needed.
I have a strange way to lube, I force Felix lube into the grooves with my fingers before sizing, pan lubing would be easier but I never seem to make enough lube.
I have a lube sizer but like the Lee dies better.
That was a great job casting.

I just hand rubbed mine also with some case lube and it worked fine. I like the new mold also except for the fact it is stamped wrong. I sent Lee an email about it last night.
    Thanks

I have never lubed before using a Lee push through for sizing and I have never found any lead in my Lee sizing dies after sizing. Several of us here think lubing twice is not required.
