I am in need of a mold recomendation

    Hello

I am looking for any suggestions of molds for my 1895 Chilean Mauser. I have done a lot of research but all the recommendations had more negatives than positives.

    Thanks in advance

I think you'd be wise to measure your throat and bore .

Hard for us to give a recommendation on something as general as you've offered at this point in time.

Many 7mms are seriously oversized, this can be a huge issue. Mine does very well
with 175 RN Hornady jbullets. So far, I have not tried boolits it that particular rifle.

    Hello

I slugged the bore it slugged out at .297. I am going to try MOLD DC C285-130-R. I know it is much smaller but if I can get the mold to drop oversize and not size it. If anyone has another recommendation I would love to hear it.

    THanks

    297.???
    you'll maybe,maybe get 287 from that mold with lino-type.
you'd have to wrap paper around it to get close to 297.

I hope it is .287, which is a normal, fairly oversized 7mm Mauser bore diam.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...chileno+mauser The attached thread has some good info, especially the recommendation from Larry Gibson, who has steered me correctly in two cases with my old '95 Chileno and '96 Swede. Hope that helps, man!
