Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.

It's a 4-bore, 300 Gr. FG with hornets nest wad. I can't afford to feed the big guys anymore.

It's store bought, I got it from Cannon Mike several years ago.

I was hoping to secure passage on a batteau in the James river festivel, but got out of re-inacting.http://www.vacanals.org/batteau/
I just annoy the neighbors. I do have a mount for it on the front rack of my quad.

It sure looks nice. Seeing that picture brings back fond memories.
I had a 1/3 replica Napoleonic at one time. I used 2 oz (volume) FFG and a bounty paper towel wad.
I wish I still had it. Have you considered making your own black powder?
Post a video with sound if you have one. Nothing like the deep roar of a black powder cannon.

Impressive. A guy I use to work with had a shaft from a grain leg belt pully that he had someone bore a hole 10 inches deep into one end. He would dump 3 heaping tablespoons of Bp in it, pack a newpaper wad in, jam some cannon fuse in to touch hole and light it off. WOW !!! It wasn't attached to anything and would slide along on the ground from the recoil. You sure wouldn't want to be behind it for aways.

I use hornets and wasp nest for wads because they will not smolder and start fires
I will make black powder when it is completely unavailable. Not far off.
No video, the wife was extremely lucky to catch it. You can tell the shutter was vide open. The only light was the porch light.

I didn’t know that about the hornets and wasp nests. There are plenty of them around here. The paper towels do smolder , but the ground is wet with dew most nights. I have the parts of a small about 60 cal cannon that i need to clean up and put together.
As a vegetable , I have lots of the kno3 and sulfur, part of the makings for black powder. I figure I can make it for about 45 cents per pound.
