    Cavim 92

Picked up some 308 brass at the range sometime back with Headstamp Cavim 92, boxer primed, consistant weight to within 3gr.+/-. Haven't reloaded any of it yet, so no experiance or results. Presume it is military from some foreign country, but would be interested if any one has specifics. Thanks in advance for those who respond.

Glad you asked the question, prompted finding this:

I fired a lot of it in .308 M1 and M1A rifles in the early 1990s. I remember some expressing concern about the softness of the brass and lacquer on the brass building up in the chamber, but I had no such problems.

From Venezuela I believe. Not nato spec. But loads just fine. 3X and counting full power M80 ball loads, no problems. Weights about the same as LC cases, has a thick web.

I came into a useable quantity of 'Cavin' brass four or five years back and reformed all of it into 7.65 Argentine (no caliber marking to get mixed in with my '06's). By now, some of it is on it's fourth or fifth reload with no neck splitting or loose primer pockets.

Have 20 of them loaded w/18 gr. 2400/dac fill/150lee Gc. My pet load will be interested in results when weather allows me to get to the range.

The loaded ammo is some of the worst mil-surp I ever encountered in 7.62. Erratic and too hot.

The 18 gr. of 2400 load in this brass shoots better than the shooter.
