This press looks like the perfect solution to a non-existent problem.

    Hi,
Looks like an upside down Hollywood! Like the man said if they brought out the Big Max again for say $250 they wouldn't be able to keep them on the shelves! Makes you wonder about office people sometimes!
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.
May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” -Samuel Adams

I think the RCBS model looks sturdier.

Here a place in Britan with the Whamadets?

Interesting. Never saw the Wamadet before. Thanks for the info Dromia.

But, of course, moving the die and not the case could never work.

There is always room on my bench for a good reloading press, but I'll have to see one in the flesh or in operation, it may be better for some operations then others.

The Wamadet was a great system in its day, flexible to.

As I said I still have a couple and all the add ons in use.

There were parts for priming, swaging and lubsizing (using RCBS/Lyman H&I dies). That press is part of my Highland handloading set up and I've been using it for lusizing boolits whist I am up here for the holidays.

One of its interesting features was that it didn't need bolting or clamping to anything to operate.

The Wamadet is no longer made although Helston sell ones made up from old inventory parts they also may make the odd bit as items run down but it is unlikely that the press will ever be re-manufactured.

I can recall when the "only" press was a cast iron "O" press. Anything else was a "gimmick". I always wanted to try a Hollywood press of the same design, but could never afford one and I prolly won't be able to afford one from RCBS either...

Interesting that RCBS puts "Made In USA" in the product description. I think they are still reeling from outsourcing parts to China. None of the other stuff shows "Made In USA" in the description.

So the dies move and not the cases?...

I sure would like to see one of those critters work...

Are they an old design that just went by the wayside and someone decided to try them again?...

    Interesting...

Looks like combination of a Hollywood Senior and a Bonanza Co-Ax.
I'd really have to give it a go before shelling out anything to buy it.
    Might be interesting though...

A couple more bucks and you can have a co-ax. Don't really see a need for this item. Just my .02, Rod

Does anyone have any reason to believe that press would make better or more accurate ammo than the press they already have on their bench?

    NOPE!

From the right people you could get a classic cast set up with 50BMG dies and priming setup for less money.

The Wadamet is interesting especially if you do not need to mount it to something.

Hey Pressman or any others, is there a similar press ever made?

    take care,

Because the "ram" isn't a ram. It is a post and doesn't move. The die holder moves up and down the "ram" like the top punch holder on a Lyman 45.

Got it. Doesn't sound very strong when described with the Lyman 45 lubrisizer.

    Take care
