Rest assured this mold is not dead, 45 2.1 is still dealing with some detail in the design.

I think I am cutting this design, multiple diameters and a possible HP option if Mr 2.1 orders it that way.

Remind me again, what is the weight going to be?
What is it going to cost?
Are you in need a pan lube cutter?
I make custom made cutters in a cutting size of your choice.

    I also would like a 140. I have 3 6.5s in 6.5-06, 6.5--284 & 6.5 RemMag. All need the big bullet & the 06 & 284 are match chambers.

I havn't a clue what contour etc would work in these.

The origonal reason for starting this thread is because I am in need of a lead boolit to shoot through my 6.5 Grendel. The optimal jacketed bullet weight for the Grendel is the 123gr. I need a mold that takes the Grendel's tight tolerances into account, with the current lack of 6.5 123gr jacketed bullets on retail shelves I would like to be able to have similar boolits to shoot. I sent a chamber cast to 45 2.1 and asked for his help getting this ball rolling. He has put a lot of work into the design and is looking at who will cut the mold.

Agreed. There are molds out there now from 140 to 170 grain.
We were looking for a lighter boolit to use in the 6.5 Grendel.

OK, now I am interested to see how much. I have a Grendel in my T/C Contender, and one I built as an AR.

Do these things normally go on for 15 or 16 months with no buy actually started?

Sometimes they do.................... but, in this case a throat impact slug showed some irregularities that are being confirmed. Sometimes when this happens, solutions need to be created.... and that is what is happening.

Right now we are waiting for me to do another impact slug, which I will do as soon as I can get to it.

So, a design is being "created" to accommodate a throat with an irregularity?
I would think one would use the chamber dimensions that are produced by the manufacturer.
I guess i do not understand some things (guess I am dangerous..LOL).
Thanks for the response and have a good 'un, TCG

Guess I am losing interest guys. I have enough irons in the fire any way. Good luck with that boolit, hope it works great for you.

I just completed a couple chamber casts and sent my readings to 45 2.1. My finding are consistant with the AASAAMI drawing that I have. Now just to figure out where the differences came from.

I made an additional four chamber casts just for good measure.
