I have 2 45ACPs I use for CC. One is a Mk4 Series 70 Colt and the other is a Sig P220. Both full size. Carry and conceal easily, for me anyway.

45 AUTO! Because having to shoot someone twice is just silly!
Me too. Back when I worried about such things, I carried my Colt 1911A1 in an El Paso Saddlery pancake holster under my right kidney. Never felt encumbered.
I'm not a real heavy guy and I have no problem with a Colt Commander in a pancake holster from Roy Baker, carried it for years.
I am 6' 180 and I carry either the Sig or the Colt tucked in my waist band behind my right hip and it works just fine.

Take a look at Kimber's Ultra RCP II and the comparable Colt New Agent. Both are 3" barreled, aluminum frame guns with gutter sights and low weight.

Caveat Emptor: Do not trust Cavery Grips/American Gripz/Prestige Grips/Stealth Grips from Clayton, NC. He will rip you off.
My Rock Island Officer's Model (akaCompact) is almost as heavy as my RIA GI model, but the 3.5" barrel allows for nice IWB concealment, with any sort of untucked shirt, vest, or jacket. Shoots like a dream, up close and fast.
Tough to find but I carry a S&W CS 45. They are, as far as I am concerned one of the finest CCW pistols ever made.
