    32-100 2r boolit in 30 carbine.

Picked up a plain base boolit mold for the m1 carbine. The Lee 100 gr 2r boolit for 32 cal handguns. I cast some up out of WDCOWW (.313 at the part line, .312Attachment 56382 90* off) 101.5 gr.
Lubed with speed green loaded some over wsrp and alliant 2400(11.5 gr).
When the wind calms down this weekend we will see how they shoot.

that looks quite similar to the rcbs 98gr rnfp i use but with 2 lube grooves and round.
i size to 312 for the 30 carbine and use just enough 2400 [and a sr mag primer] to make the little carbine operate.

I haven't tried any mag primers in my loads yet, but i have a thousand sitting around and wasn't sure what I could do with them. 2400 seemed to be burning good with just a srp.

i don't remember why i started using the mag primer [i think it's because i didn't like them in the 223 or sumthin]
but i like it in the 30 carbine and the 25-20.

Looks good but 11.5gr 2400 will give you about 1750fps which may be too fast for the PB. If you get a wide group you could try 10.5 which will be about 1600fps. My carb opens up groups with PB any time I go above 1600.

I have found that the minimum load of IMR-4227 work well with the plain based Lyman #311410 130gr boolit. If you went this route, you'd need to experiment with a load since the boolit weights are different. Consult your reloading manauls and procede with the standard caution.

    I hope this helps,

uber7, that is my favorite for the carbine as well 4227 and the Lyman plain base 130 gr. It is accurate in all of my carbines and functions well.

Well, I went to the range yesterday morning. I had some loads starting at 9.0 gr of A2400 going up to 11.0 in 0.5 gr increments. best shooting was 9.0 grouping at 1/5" @ 50 yrds 1450 fps. It would not cycle the action. 11.0 gave me 1900 fps. loads started to open up as they went up,
I tried some loads with mag primers and they sucked.
I may have to stick with the 113 gr fp (soupcan) with a GC.

My plain base were sized .311 may bump up to .312

Probably the best bet. After years of trying to get a 311410 and a 31108 to shoot well at any appreciable M1 Carbine velocity I gave up, went to GC'd bullets and haven't looked back..........

My favorites are the RCBS, the Lee 120 GC'd RN, the 311316, the 311359 and the 313631.

Never got the little carbine to shoot well and cycle the action without GC's. Only adds a few cents and makes all the difference.

I cast mine hard (6# monotype + 3# pure) for a BHN of about 22. They weight 105gr and shoot just fine without GC's with 12.5gr of 2400.
