    Success with the 44 mag!

Finaly shot a buck with my freedom arms. Hunted Michigan for the first time and had a great hunt. In a day and a half in the woods I saw over 20 deer and shot the second buck I saw. He's not big but he tastes great! Two shots with the 300 gr LBT and he was down for good. Came in at about 20 yards. Easy shot.

Cool. Nice job. Small, but still a wonderful trophy.

Where at in MI? This is something I'd like to try.

    Success with the 44 mag!

Congratulations! I spent two years in Michigan but never hunted. I did eat plenty of whitetail though.

    What holster is that?

Congrats. I picked up a SBH in hopes of being able to get into hand gun hunting.

Perfect deer and good job. A good boolit choice too.
    I like button bucks best!
I shot six this season and all were bucks. Three spikes and the rest---well I am a meat hunter first.
I think you like the .44 as much as I do, the perfect deer caliber.

I was hunting near Iron River MI. Only one of the boolits exited. I was a little suprised by this but I cant complain. The deer was dead in about five steps. Double lung exited and a shoulder shot glanced off the shoulder and into the boiler room. Hardly any meat lost.

The holster is made by our own Wes Daems www.7xleather.com he makse the BEST hunting holster EVER! It is instantly adjustable from a heavy hunting coat to a t-shirt. Quite, rugged and well made. I can't say enough about this GREAT holster!!!

The horns may not be massive, but he does have the elongated nose and grey appearance of a more mature buck! And being your first he is as large a trophy as they come. Congradulations.l

I don't think he is that old. He is not gray. Normal color for the place he hunts. The meat will be fine.
